Questions about accounts

Your RRSP will remain unchanged until you fully cash it out or convert it into a RIFF.

Please note that you can continue making contributions to your RRSP after you retire if you still have unused contribution room. These contributions may prove valuable if you have large taxable gains (sale of a rental property, capital gain on non-registered investments, etc.).

You can contribute to your RRSP until December 31 of the year that you turn 71. Please note that you cannot make contributions in the first 60 days of the year following the year that you turned 71. Book a phone or a video appointment, whichever you prefer. Our team of retirement savings and mutual funds advisors is there to guide you through all of your savings projects.

If your investor profile still meets your current needs, you can make contributions by yourself at any time through the FÉRIQUE Portal or mobile app. To learn how to execute a transaction, go to the Transaction page. You can also call the Advisory services at 514-788-6485 (toll-free 1-800-291-0337) Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There’s no minimum age to contribute to an RRSP. However, you still have to confirm your available contribution room before contributing to your RRSP. You need to be at least 18 to
contribute more than $2,000.

You can contribute to your RRSP until December 31 of the year that you turn 71. Please note that you cannot make contributions in the first 60 days of the year following the year that you turned 71.

You must convert your RRSP into a RRIF (or LIF) in the year that you turn 71.

You can start contributing to your TFSA in the year that you turn 18. Please note that your TFSA contribution room starts to accumulate in the year you turn 18. Your TFSA contribution room will only accumulate for the years during which you are a resident of Canada throughout the entire year.

Questions about fees

As stated in our Prospectus, we charge a transfer fee of $150, plus applicable sales taxes, on the full transfer of a registered account to another financial institution.

If you transfer an account with a value of at least $5,000, FÉRIQUE Investment Services will refund you up to $150 in transfer fees. You need to provide us with a copy of a document stating the transfer fees you paid so that we can refund them to you. You can find this information in the quarterly statement for the period ended December 31. Just look in the Fund expenses and other fees section of the document.
